Player Spotlight – Brennan Ciona #8
Having recently moved to Cold Lake with his family, Brennan Ciona jumped at the opportunity to play football in his new hometown. Debuting with the team for the first time on May 25th, Brennan had an immediate impact, sharing return duties on special teams and occupying one of two starting Slot Back roles on offense.
“Moving to Cold Lake, I thought it would be tough to adjust, but playing in-front of my new neighbors and friends has made the transition a lot easier. The reception from the city has been amazing.” – Brennan Ciona
Despite being only 20 years-old, Ciona is technically not a rookie in the Alberta Football League. Last season he suited up for the Lloydminster Vandals for a single game, helping him stay in shape in anticipation of playing for the St. Johns Seahawks in Newfoundland during the fall of 2018.
At 5’9”, 180 lbs, the speedy receiver has been turning heads as of late with his ability to eat up yards and move the chains.
Before graduating to senior club football, Ciona was a member of Team Alberta in the ABC Bowl, as well as won the Tier-3, Southern Alberta Football Championship as a member of the Chinook Coyotes.
“We are looking to make history here in our first year, so i’m definetly looking forward to helping the fighter jets and seeing where we can go in 2019,” said Ciona.
